Quality Manager

Maintain ISO certification and manage the quality assurance function. Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting company quality metrics, coordinating internal audits, corrective actions, continuous improvement teams, and overseeing the daily quality assurance activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage the internal audit program including scheduling audits, reporting results, and creating corrective actions as required. Make recommendations related to audit training.
  • Manage ISO surveillance audits
  • Create and maintain procedures for the Quality Procedures Manual and other related records
  • Assist the Purchasing Department in vendor qualification procedures and audits, including coordinating Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
  • Train, evaluate, and manage employees in the Quality Department
  • Serve on Continuous Improvement and Steering Committees and the Material Review Board
  • Review quality requirements imposed by customer specifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (list below, if applicable):

Serves as direct report for all Quality personnel (electrical testers and inspectors)


Certificates, licenses, and registrations: AWS welding inspection certification and ASQ certified quality auditor preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:  Thorough understanding of the ISO Quality System and ANSI/ASQC Q2000-2001 guidelines.  Able to use common word-processing and spreadsheet software. Thorough knowledge of quality processes and administering quality programs including internal audits, quality metrics, quality procedures and processes, continuous improvement programs, and supplier qualifications.

Education/Experience:  Five or more years Quality Management experience in an ISO environment.  Prior ISO implementation experience and Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience with welding inspection and qualification preferred.

Work Environment: 2/3 of time is spent in a temperature-controlled office with a moderate noise level. Up to 1/3 of time may be spent in an industrial manufacturing area with a loud noise level, or in outdoor product & material staging areas with moderate noise levels. The manufacturing area is enclosed and is ventilated, heated, and air-conditioned.
