Job Description

Quality Control Technician

Summary Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Ensures documentation is current, accurate and available.

Review BOM, check part numbers on components.

Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, mechanical and electrical characteristics.

Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

High Potential Testing.

Conduct switch resistance test on pad mount gear.

Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors' degree from a four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written/oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concreate variable in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office.
