Job Description



Subsidiary:

General Description:

Plans, coordinates, and supervises manufacturing activities and projects.



Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is required.



Experience:

At least three years of related supervisory/professional experience in a manufacturing or industrial operation.



Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Solid leadership and problem-solving skills and general understanding of OSHA and EPA requirements.



Essential Duties:

  • Supervises activities and personnel in the manufacturing department to maximize production and quality, and minimize costs.
  • Conducts assessments of manufacturing facilities & equipment, and recommend improvements to the same based on expected return on investment.
  • Monitors progress of projects through manufacturing and resolves issues as necessary.
  • Coordinates special projects involving the manufacturing area.
  • Recommends and requisitions equipment, tools, and supplies for the manufacturing group.
  • Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
  • Performs periodic hazardous material inspections.
  • Ensures that manufacturing activities comply with company policies and government regulations.


Work Environment:

Approximately ½ of time is spent in a temperature-controlled office with a moderate noise level; other ½ is spent in an industrial manufacturing environment with loud noise level.  The manufacturing facility is enclosed and is ventilated and heated, but is not air-conditioned.



Physical Demands:

Office position, primarily sedentary.  At least 2/3 of time is spent talking/hearing, reading, and using hands/fingers.  Generally spends equal amounts of time (1/3 each) seated, standing, and walking.  Generally requires clear vision at 20 inches or less.



Schedule:

Full Time.



Travel:

Occasional overnight/out-of-state travel required (less than 20%).
