JOB SUMMARY

Repairs, maintains, replaces, installs, and tests electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble or malfunctions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance/Electrical

- Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause, and makes necessary adjustments.

- Operates electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.

- Works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, or layouts.

- Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.

Sr Maintenance/Electrical

- Installs electrical equipment with minimal instructions.

- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, and detects and replaces defective control modules.

- Performs complex wiring assignments. Installs power, light, electronic, and control circuits.

- Direct or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.

PROFILE LEVEL DESCRIPTION

- Expands skills in own work area within an analytical/scientific method or operational process.

- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.

- Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods with a moderate degree of supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education/Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational/Technical degree in electricity or equivalent helpful. Electrical

  2. Knowledge/Skills:  Knowledge of the processes for general manufacturing increasing with level and years of experience. Successful AZZ electricians are self-motivated, have a high attention to detail and like to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Entry level and intermediate electricians expand their knowledge while continuing their education to obtain a license and/or certificate.

  3. Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Electrical journeyperson's license preferred

  4. Math Skills:  Basic mathematical skills are a must

  5. Language Skills:  Must have good verbal and written communication skills

  6. Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

  7. Attendance Requirement:  Regular attendance required during plant hours

  8. Travel Requirement:  None
