Electrical Division

General Description:

The Director of Finance is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all domestic and international accounting and financial reporting functions of the assigned division. This position is a key member of the global financial team and ensures financial discipline is enforced to drive the AZZ business success. This position reports directly to the EVP Chief Accounting Officer.

Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance or field equivalent business required. Master’s Degree with 10 years of progressive responsible experience in Public and Private financial organizations is preferred. CPA preferred.


 10 years; previous accounting experience in manufacturing and project –based job costing experience a plus.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

In-depth knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and Sarbanes –Oxley. ERP, Oracle, Pivot tables and Spread sheet experience a plus.

Essential Duties:

  • Guides financial decisions of staff and leaders within the assigned business segment to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
  • Ensures all financial activities comply with company policy, as well as, legal and ethical guides lines for domestic and international operations.
  • Serves as the primary corporate liaison and strategic partner in an assigned business segment Division President while directing interactions with corporate representatives and customers.
  • Collaborates with legal, senior leaders, and financial team members to ensure process controls are adhered to for short-term and long-term organizational effectiveness.
  • Evaluates, establishes, modifies and maintains systems and controls which assure the integrity of all systems, processes, and data that enhances the company’s value.
  • Directs responsible attention to human capital development and training, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to drive AZZ mission and values.
  • Develops and recommends strategies, as well as, KPI’s in an effort to support cash flow generation for each business entity and incorporates bestpractices.
  • Participates in a wide variety of special projects as assigned.

Work Environment:

Primarily air conditioned office. Approximately 10% of work activities in field operations/plants.

Physical Demands:

Time is spent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. Must be capableof lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be able to see at close range and perform repetitive hand/armmotions
